Generation's morning


What an amazing morning! A huge thank you to all parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and family friends who were involved in making today such a brilliant success.  Room 8 learnt so many things about the past, so wonderful of you all to share your stories with us.

Postcard Predictions

Today we were looking at the reading strategy 'predicting'. The children went around the tables predicting where all of the 'postcards' were from. They had to work as a group and talk about what languages might be spoken in that country, what foods might be eaten, what types of clothing might be worn and what kinds of activities might they do in a place like this. Predicting is an important strategy for readers as it helps them to anticipate what they are reading. It encourages them to become active readers.

Footprints on the Future

We are starting our new topic 'Footprints on the Future' so we worked in our table groups discussing what we think this could be about. We will look at these sheets at the end of our topic to see if our predictions were correct
